Interim Injunction Granted! A Milestone in Intellectual Property Protection by Ismeca Semiconductor in Malaysia

21. September 2009

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia August 25, 2009 – Ismeca Semiconductor welcome the decision of the High Court (Intellectual Property) of Kuala Lumpur in granting an interim injunction to restrain Semiconductor Technologies & Instruments Pte Ltd from infringing Ismeca’s patented optical 5S QFN device as well as its patented device for the extraction of electronic components known as “air gun loader”. Ismeca has always been in the forefront of turret back-end machines and it always takes an unpromising stand in protecting its innovative and patented technologies.

Singapore September 18, 2009 – Following a stern stand and injunctive order against Semiconductor Technologies & Instruments Pte Ltd by the Malaysian IP Court to restrain the Defendant from infringing the patents of the Ismeca, it is imminent that the trial of the corresponding patent infringement suit filed with the High Court of Singapore shall be expedited and it is envisaged that the trial will proceed in the 1st Quarter of 2010.
